1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Nomad Translate application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Nature of Service (Offline AI)

Nomad Translate utilizes local Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, specifically the TranslateGemma family, to perform translations directly on your device.

  • No Cloud Processing: We do not transmit your text or voice inputs to any cloud server for processing. All data remains on your device.
  • Accuracy Disclaimer: AI models can make mistakes ("hallucinations"). Translations are provided "AS-IS" without warranty of any kind. You should not rely on this App for critical situations, including but not limited to: medical emergencies, legal negotiations, or high-stakes safety instructions.

3. Intellectual Property & Licenses

  • The App: The interface, code, and branding of Nomad Translate are owned by the developer.
  • The Model: This App distributes a quantized version of the TranslateGemma model. This model is the property of Google and is provided under and subject to the Gemma Terms of Use found at ai.google.dev/gemma/terms.
  • Attribution: By using this App, you acknowledge that the underlying translation technology is powered by Google's Gemma research.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Generate content that violates the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy (e.g., hate speech, sexually explicit content, facilitation of illegal acts).
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the model weights or proprietary logic from the App package.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Nomad Translate shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:

  • Inaccurate translations.
  • Data loss due to device failure (as we do not sync your data to the cloud).
  • Any misunderstanding or altercation arising from the use of the translations provided.

6. Updates and Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of the changes.
